Matthew Nelson

Matthew Nelson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in battery technology and systems integration. Currently serving as Battery Integration Manager at Cummins Inc., Matthew leads a team focused on evaluating new battery technologies and is spearheading a project on Lithium-Metal pouch cells for heavy-duty truck applications. With a background that includes roles as Engineering Manager and Technical Project Manager at both Cummins and Brammo, Matthew has successfully transitioned multiple battery designs from concept to production, demonstrating strong leadership in managing project schedules, budgets, and technical reviews. Earlier experience at BAE Systems as a Mechanical Engineer involved designing complex cooling systems for military vehicles. Matthew holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
