Dee May has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Dee is currently the CEO/DoN at Cura Day Hospitals Group. Prior to this, they held the role of Head of Core at integratedliving Australia Limited, where they were responsible for managing a specialist health services team. Before that, Dee worked as a Healthcare Consultant at Specialist Medical Practices and North Brisbane Sleep & Thoracic. Dee also served as the General Manager/Director of Nursing at Brisbane Endoscopy Services & Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and as a Nursing Manager at Beaudesert Hospital. Dee has also held positions at QUT as Director of Professional Practice and at Ramsay Health Care as State Manager of Workforce Planning & Development. Dee has experience in program management and project management in palliative care at QUT and Mayne Health respectively.

Dee May's education history begins in 1989 when they obtained a Diploma of Nursing from the University of Tasmania. In 1995, they pursued further education at the Australian Catholic University, completing a Bachelor of Nursing (postgraduate) program. Following this, in 1997, Dee attended Victoria University and earned a Graduate Diploma in Adult Education & Training. In 2007, they enrolled in Metro South Institute of TAFE and achieved a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. As of 2022, Dee is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Behavioral Science (Psychology) degree at QUT (Queensland University of Technology).
