Joel Gever

Joel Gever has worked in the field of pharmacology for over 25 years. Joel began their career in 1994 as a Research Scientist at Roche Palo Alto. Joel then moved to UCSF in 2009, where they served as an Assistant Adjunct Professor. In 2015, they became the Director of Pharmacology at Afferent Pharmaceuticals, and in 2016 they were promoted to Principal Scientist at Merck SSF. In 2018, they took on the role of Senior Director of Pharmacology at CuraSen Therapeutics, Inc.

Joel Gever obtained their B.S. in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Davis between 1985 and 1991. Joel then went on to obtain their M.S. in Environmental Chemistry from the same university between 1991 and 1993. In 2009, they completed their Ph.D. in Neuroscience from UCL. Prior to this, they attended Palos Verdes High School.
