Matt Gerwell has held various roles in the software engineering industry since 2002. Matt began their career as a Research Associate at the University of Texas at Austin, where they implemented algorithms for numerical antenna design in C on UNIX platforms and designed a set of Java applets for numerical solution of simple heat transfer problems. In 2004, they joined the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as an Associate Member of Technical Staff, where they implemented simulations of electromagnetic phenomena in Matlab and C++, and designed a user interface for control of custom instrumentation and test equipment. In 2006, they moved to Tel-Instrument Electronics Corporation as a Digital Design Engineer, where they implemented signal processing algorithms on FPGA media using VHDL for design entry. In 2007, they joined ITT as a Software Engineer, where they developed link-layer communications software in C and C++, and designed and implemented functional test software using Perl and C++ under Linux. Matt then joined Curex Group LLC in 2011, where they held roles as Vice President of Software Engineering and Associate Software Engineer.
Matt Gerwell attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with a focus on Electromagnetics.
