Matt O'Neal

Matt O'Neal has extensive experience in sales and marketing, particularly in the consumer packaged goods industry. Matt has held various roles in different companies, including Vice President of Sales at Curio Wellness, where they are currently employed. Prior to that, Matt was the Principal and Founder of CPG Strategies LLC, where they provided strategic advice to small and medium-sized businesses in the convenience, grocery, mass, drug, and dollar channels.

Matt also has experience in brand partnerships and enterprise sales. Matt worked as the Director of Age-Restricted Brand Partnerships at PDI Technologies and as the Director of Enterprise Sales at Skupos Inc., a PDI Technologies Company. In these roles, they focused on helping brands improve distribution, pricing, loyalty programs, and revenue through data-backed insights and promotions.

Before their time at PDI Technologies, Matt had a long career at Altria, where they held several high-level positions. Matt served as the Senior Director of Sales, leading a sales and distribution team covering four states. Matt also worked as the Director of Trade Marketing for Philip Morris USA, where they developed and implemented retail promotion programs. Additionally, Matt was the Senior Brand Manager for John Middleton Co., where they successfully executed marketing plans and achieved double-digit volume growth for the Black & Mild brand.

Matt O'Neal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Indiana University Bloomington from 2002 to 2006. Matt later obtained a Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University in 2022. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Digital Marketing & Business Analytics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, expected to be completed in 2024.
