Curious Cardinals
Vanessa Tam is an Engineer II at Terumo Neuro, engaged in Process Development since August 2023, following involvement in an Engineering Development Program. Vanessa has also worked as an Engineering Workshop Teacher and Mentor at Curious Cardinals since July 2021. Prior experience includes a Design Health Graduate Research Fellowship at Duke University School of Medicine, focusing on Neurology within Feng Lab, and various teaching assistant roles in the Biomedical Engineering department at Duke University Pratt School of Engineering. Vanessa interned at Boston Scientific in the Neuromodulation Division and served as a Biomedical Engineering Intern at Duke University School of Medicine, where a novel device for laparoscopic surgery was designed. Additional projects include contributions to PPE sanitation for healthcare workers and participation in a community service immersion program through DukeEngage. Vanessa holds a Master of Engineering in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Duke University.
