Ian O'doherty

Ian O’Doherty is an advisor at Currensea and the former CEO of Appreciate Group PLC. Ian was also previously a board member of The UK Cards Association and CEO of Ireland Card Services and Head of Retail Financial Services at Bank of America. O’Doherty began their career at MBNA in 1991 as CEO of Ireland Card Services. Ian was named CEO of MBNA Limited in 2008 and oversaw the sale of the company to Lloyds Bank Group for £1.9 billion in 2017.

Ian O'Doherty has an honorary Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Chester, an MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management, an MS in Structural Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a BE in Civil Engineering from University College Dublin. Ian also went to Clongowes Wood College.
