Jonathan Coopersmith

Chair of Musical Studies at Curtis Institute of Music

Jonathan Coopersmith is currently the Chair of Musical Studies at Curtis Institute of Music. Jonathan has been teaching at Curtis since 2005. Prior to that, they were the Associate Conductor and Personnel Manager for The Philadelphia Singers from 2000-2005. Jonathan has also been the Artistic Director and Conductor of Nashirah since 2005.

From 1997-2004, Jonathan was the Founder and President of TDG Enterprises, a technology consulting company that specialized in network solutions and custom software for private and professional clients. Jonathan was also Self Employed as a Technology Consultant from 1997-2003.

Before all of that, Jonathan was the VP of Research & Development at Lyrrus, Inc. from 1989-1997.

Jonathan Coopersmith received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Jonathan also received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Pennsylvania. Jonathan went on to receive a Master's Degree in Orchestral Conducting from The New School Mannes College of Music.

Jonathan Coopersmith reports to Roberto Díaz, President & CEO. They work with Jessica Wolford - Senior Director of Concert Production & Artistic Operations, Instrumental Studies, Drew Schlegel - Director of Audio Engineering, and Patricia K. Johnson - VP of Communications & Public Affairs.
