Ben Blackwood is an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in avionics, having held key positions at Custom Helicopters Ltd. since January 2022, PAL Aerospace from August 2019 to December 2021, and Newfoundland Helicopters Ltd. from September 2015 to July 2019. Prior to these roles, Ben served as an Avionics Engineer at Cougar Helicopters Inc. and completed a summer work term as an Avionics Student Apprentice at Provincial Aerospace. Ben holds a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology from the College of the North Atlantic and additional certifications from various training centers, including the Airbus Training Center and multiple programs at the Bell Helicopter Training Academy.

Custom Helicopters was founded in 1977 and has grown to a fleet of over 20 helicopters.  Our head office is located at St. Andrew’s Airport in Winnipeg and we have operational bases throughout Canada. Custom Helicopters’ versatile helicopter fleet allows us to provide a variety of services including mineral exploration, seismic support, powerline maintenance, oil & gas support, emergency medical services, wildlife surveys, live animal capture, forest fire suppression, diamond drill support, corporate transportation, motion picture support, aerial inspection and helicopter maintenance repair & overhaul.   Custom’s parent company is Exchange Income Corporation (www.exchangeincomecorp.ca).
