Jan Majchel

Research Engineer at Customcells

Jan Majchel's work experience begins in 2012 when they worked as an intern at WSGreenTechnologies GmbH, where they gained insights into project management and consulting in the sustainable building sector. They also worked on constructional/technical energy concepts for architectural competitions.

In 2015, Jan Majchel became a Masters Student at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). During this time, they synthesized nanosized electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution and conducted electrochemical and physical characterization tests.

From 2016 to 2020, Jan Majchel was a PhD Candidate and later a Research Associate at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. Their work involved the identification, synthesis, optimization, and characterization of electrocatalysts used in oxygen electrodes of metal-air batteries and sulfur cathodes of lithium-sulfur batteries. They also set up laboratory infrastructure and ensured material expertise and quality standards.

Since 2021, Jan Majchel has been working as a Project Planner at CUSTOMCELLS®, where they are responsible for first contact with customers and the assessment of business opportunities.

Jan Majchel completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Kassel from 2009 to 2013. Jan then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Stuttgart from 2013 to 2016.
