Matthew Newhook

Matthew Newhook is the current Chief Technical Officer at Customer.io. Matthew has over 25 years of experience in the software engineering industry, holding various leadership positions along the way.

Newhook got their start in the early 1990s, working as a software engineer for Polycom Inc. Matthew then went on to found their own software development company, Object Oriented Concepts, in 1997. Newhook served as president and head of engineering at Object Oriented Concepts for five years, during which time the company experienced significant growth. In 2002, they sold the company and took on the role of Vice President of CORBA Development at IONA Technologies.

After a year at IONA Technologies, Newhook co-founded Rocket City Studios, a game development studio based in Canada. Matthew served as president of Rocket City Studios from 2010 to 2015. In 2015, they left Rocket City Studios to join Customer.io as their CTO.

Matthew Newhook completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
