Michael Kurtz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael started their career in 2007 as a Web Developer at de Bijenkorf, where they were responsible for building websites and enhancing online sales. From there, they worked as a Usability Engineer at Hyves, focusing on improving the user experience of the online community. In 2008, they founded Music Community, an online platform for musicians and the music industry, where they successfully managed and promoted artists and organized events. Michael also worked as a Project Manager at KMM Innovation, overseeing various projects. In 2010, they served as a Student Assistant at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and in 2011, they worked as a Graduate Assistant at New York University. Kurtz then joined Universal Music Group as an A&R Intern before joining the Cutting Edge Group as the Head of Music and Marketing. In this role, they were involved in music production, licensing, and managing projects for global brands. Michael later became the Library, Sync & Catalog Development Manager at Cutting Edge Group, further expanding the company's music catalogue placements.

Michael Kurtz attended Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communication & Multimedia Design. Michael then pursued a Master's degree in Cultural Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam from 2009 to 2011. In 2010, they briefly attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business for a summer program called Communication for Leaders. Finally, in 2011 and 2012, Michael studied at New York University and earned a Master's degree in Music Business.
