Cuyama Buckhorn is a timeless roadside inn & restaurant in the heart of California’s high desert within Santa Barbara County, where community, locally-inspired food, and artistry flourish.

Offering a respite from the road, Cuyama Buckhorn rests between star-filled night skies and pastoral golden mountains. We provide thoughtfully crafted meals, a bar where conversation flows effortlessly, revitalized rooms with stylistic nods to the past, a glistening pool to dive into under the warm California sun, and plenty of event spaces to celebrate the beauty of this unmatched haven.

The music, food, and art cultivated at Cuyama Buckhorn is enhanced by the rich tradition and creative spirit of the local community. The joy of shared experiences within our Hidden Valley of Enchantment creates a connection to the natural beauty and bounty of the land.

This historic property is undergoing a major revitalization under new ownership. Once complete, the property will emerge as an intimate resort with 21 guest rooms, a new pool, lobby, and plenty of indoor and outdoor event spaces, in addition to The Buckhorn Restaurant & Bar and the new Buck Stop Coffee Shop, which are currently open and serving locals and travelers alike.
