The activities of CVETMO (Cvetmo stands for Centre for Extension and Technical Studies of Market Gardening in the Orléans region) were created in 1959 to help producers develop new production techniques such as soilless cultivation (cucumber, pepper, eggplant, tomato). Today, thanks to its strong momentum driven by producers, CVETMO is expanding into field production and therefore new crops (diversified market gardening, strawberries, raspberries, etc.). CVETMO's activities are organized around two main areas: consulting on soilless and field vegetable production throughout the entire growing cycle and post-harvest support. CVETMO is also accredited to provide specific advice on the use of plant protection products. Experimentation in soilless vegetable cultivation is conducted by our partner, the Loiret Chamber of Agriculture. The Cvetmo site covers 1.5 hectares and includes 1,400 m² of greenhouses and 1,500 m² of tunnels. Two complementary activities: Experimentation enhances the quality of advice provided to producers and various stakeholders in the vegetable sector. The close relationship with producers through advisory services allows their needs to be communicated to the experimentation center and guides R&D efforts. For the Cvetmo board of directors, this link is essential to prevent a disconnect between the realities on the ground and the needs of the industry. Advice on various crops: In soilless greenhouses, Cvetmo conducts experimentation and provides advice on the following species: cucumber, pepper, eggplant, and tomato. In open fields or under cover, Cvetmo supports you in the management of your various vegetable crops.
