Joshua M. Flum

Josh Flum is Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer, for CVS Health. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development of CVS Health’s enterprise strategy, ensuring strategic priorities are integrated into business plans across the enterprise and proactively identifying opportunities to accelerate the company’s growth through strategic partnerships, investments and acquisitions. He also Co-Founded and leads CVS Health Ventures where he is responsible for investing and partnering with high-potential, early-stage companies focused on making healthcare more accessible, affordable, and simpler for consumers.

Flum joined the company in 2004 and has held several senior roles, including Executive Vice President of Pharmacy Services, where he was focused on growing CVS Health’s retail pharmacy business through the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives. In this role, he led the pharmacy operations, pharmacy professional services, and payer relations functions supporting the company’s retail pharmacies. In addition, he oversaw the company’s Enterprise Product Innovation and Development teams.

Flum earned his bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and is a graduate of the Yale Law School. He spent the first years of his professional career clerking for the Honorable Edward R. Becker on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and then as an associate with the law firm Miller, Cassidy, Larroca and Lewin, LLP. He then joined the Boston Consulting Group where his work focused on the consumer and retail practice area.
