Mel Asuncion

Mel Asuncion is an experienced software engineering leader with a strong background in corporate systems architecture and development. Currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering at CWT since July 2016, Mel oversees the development, maintenance, and support of key global systems such as Oracle CRM and Human Capital Management. Prior roles at CWT included directing Global Matrix IT teams, acting as a Solutions Architect for Corporate Financial Systems, and managing PCI Compliance projects. With a career spanning over three decades, Mel has held various positions at Global Matrix, Unitel, CROWN LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, and Imperial Oil, demonstrating expertise in software development, architecture, and project management. Mel holds a BMath in Honours Co-operative Program, Computer Science and Operations Research from the University of Waterloo.
