Mark Sossaman

Mark Sossaman, MS, CISSP has over 20 years of experience in information technology and cybersecurity. Mark is currently the Director of Information Technology at Cy-Fair Fire Department, where they oversee the development and maintenance of public safety information systems and radio communications. Prior to this, Mark served as the Assistant Director of Information Technology - Network at The Woodlands Township for 15 years, where they managed IT security procedures and processes to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and infrastructure. Mark also has experience as an IT Security Engineer at Dynegy and a Sr. IT Security Analyst at St. Luke's Health, where they were responsible for monitoring and maintaining network security devices and executing vulnerability scans. Earlier in their career, Mark worked as a Systems Analyst at Hewlett-Packard, Visualutions, Inc., and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where they handled server setup, configuration, and troubleshooting in complex enterprise environments. With their diverse experience and expertise in cybersecurity, Mark is a valuable asset in ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems.

Mark Sossaman obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Management from Southeastern Louisiana University in the years 1991 to 1995. Mark then pursued a Master of Science degree in Information Assurance and Security from Sam Houston State University from 2011 to 2017. In addition to their degrees, Mark has obtained numerous certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in December 2012.
