Mark Lötzerich has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mark is currently working as a Senior Scientific Manager for Business Development at Cyagen since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Translational Research at the Gene Therapy Program at the University of Pennsylvania from February 2021 to January 2023.
From 2015 to 2020, Mark worked at the HUSSMAN INSTITUTE FOR AUTISM in various roles. Mark started as an Associate Staff Scientist in Neuroimmunology in April 2015 and was later promoted to become a Staff Scientist and Principal Investigator in January 2018. Mark held these positions until December 2020.
Before joining the HUSSMAN INSTITUTE FOR AUTISM, Mark was a Research Associate at the Institute of Molecular Life Sciences, University of Zurich, Switzerland, from June 2010 to March 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at 3V Biosciences Inc., Zurich, and IMLS, University of Zurich, from March 2008 to June 2010.
Mark's academic journey began at LMU - Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they pursued their Ph.D. from 2002 to 2008.
Mark Lötzerich began their education in 1993 at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they obtained a Diplom Biologe Univ degree in Molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology/toxicology in 2000. In 2002, they returned to Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München to pursue a Doctor rer nat/PhD in Virology, which they completed in 2008. In 2016 and 2017, Mark Lötzerich attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County and earned a Graduate certificate in biochemical regulatory engineering.
