Jason Sallee, CISSP,GCFE

Jason Sallee, CISSP, GCFE, has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jason currently holds the position of Manager of Information Security at Cyber Defense Labs since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Information Security Engineer at Baker Botts from March 2018 to September 2022, where they provided management with reports, metrics, and briefings, and ensured the firm's and its clients' information was protected from internal and external threats.

From January 2017 to March 2018, Jason served as a Security Engineer at Carlson Capital, L.P., where they administered day-to-day security operations, performed incident response functions, and conducted security investigations. Before that, they worked as a Technical Security Engineer at Carlile Bancshares, Inc. from March 2015 to January 2017. In this role, they developed threat intelligence gathering and reporting, managed security software, performed security log management and analysis, and monitored the network for vulnerabilities.

Jason also has experience in academia, having served as an Adjunct Professor at North Central Texas College from August 2015 to September 2016. During this time, they provided professional instruction in information security, developed curriculum, and assisted students in building professional contacts.

Jason's earlier career includes roles as a Network Engineering and Planning professional at Verizon from August 1998 to November 2008, and as an Ammunition and Explosive Ordnance Disposal NCO in the United States Marine Corps from October 1994 to June 1997.

Jason pursued a Cybersecurity and Business program at The University of Dallas, although the specific years are not provided. In 2015-2016, they obtained a Cyber Security Certificate from North Central Texas College, focusing on Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. Prior to that, Jason earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Emergency Management and Planning from the University of North Texas in 2010-2011.
