Rajivarnan R has held multiple roles in the field of cybersecurity since 2012. Rajivarnan started as a Cyber Security Researcher and Penetration Tester at AKATI Consulting, where they worked with major banks in Asia and Africa to audit and fix issues in their banking applications. Rajivarnan then went on to work as a Senior Consultant and Professional Trainer & Security Researcher at Cyberdom Consulting Pvt Ltd, where they conducted ethical hacking training and information security workshops for students, corporate sectors, and government. Rajivarnan also worked as an Ethical Hacking Trainer at Orient Academy Sri Lanka and Matrix Institute of Information Technology. Rajivarnan acted as a Network Security & System Administration Trainer at Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka, where they worked on the ICTA LGN implementation project. In 2016, they became a Chapter Member of High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), and in the same year, they started their own company, Cyberarch, where they serve as the Chief Executive Officer. In 2021, Rajivarnan became the Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) at Holm Bank. Throughout their career, Rajivarnan has demonstrated expertise in penetration testing, application testing, web application security assessment, onsite internet security assessment, and IDS/IPS audits.

Rajivarnan R holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, which they obtained between 2009 and 2011. Rajivarnan also holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, which they obtained in 2015. In 2016, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from ACS - The Professional Association for Australia's ICT sector. In 2018, they obtained an MACS-CP degree in Cyber/Computer Forensics and Counterterrorism from ACS - The Professional Association for Australia's ICT sector. In addition, they have obtained several certification courses in IT Security and Cybersecurity management from various institutions such as EC-Council, CREST, and eLearnSecurity.
