Matt Ellis

Matt Ellis has extensive work experience in the field of DevOps and software development.

Matt is currently employed at CyberHive as a Senior DevOps Engineer, starting in January 2023.

Prior to this, Matt worked at Catalyst IT Europe Limited as a DevOps Engineer from September 2021 to December 2022.

From May 2016 to September 2021, they served as the DevOps & Systems Scrum Master and Continuous Improvement & Innovation Manager at Mayden. In this role, they were responsible for identifying areas for improvement in software development processes and tools across the software development teams and coordinating their implementation. Matt also held the position of Continuous Improvement & Innovation Manager from April 2015 to September 2021.

Matt began their career at Mayden as a Software Developer in January 2008 and was promoted to Senior Software Developer in January 2013.

Before joining Mayden, they worked at Routeways Centre Limited as a Web Developer/IT Consultant from 2005 to 2008. There, they designed and built a system for surveys of Plymouth school children and created data storage, reporting, and analysis tools.

Matt's early work experience includes a role as a Dataflow Administrator at Future Publishing from 1999 to 2001. In this position, they were responsible for the operation and upkeep of the IT system used by editorial and art design staff.

Overall, Matt Ellis has a diverse background in DevOps, software development, and system administration, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Matt Ellis attended Beechen Cliff School from 1991 to 1997 and obtained their GCSE degree during that time. Matt went on to study Computer Science at the University of Plymouth from 2002 to 2007, earning a BSc degree. In addition to their formal education, Matt also obtained several certifications including Advanced Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance in February 2016, Zend Certified Engineer PHP 5.3 from Zend Technologies in December 2012, and Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance in February 2013.
