John Grasett

John Grasett has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry. John began their career in 1989 as an Academic Computing Technician at Sir Sandford Fleming College. John then moved to ISM/IBM, where they worked as a Senior Support Analyst from 1996 to 2001. In 2001, they joined IBM as a WebSphere Technical Lead. From 2010 to 2011, they worked at Open Logic Solutions as a Senior Technical Specialist - Infrastructure. John then joined Avnet Services in 2011, where they held the roles of Senior Technical Consultant and Senior Technical Specialist - Infrastructure. In 2017, they became a Cloud Architect at Tech Data. In 2019, they joined RiverMeadow Software Inc. as a Cloud Migration Specialist for EMEIA and AsiaPac, and also became a Founding Director at Robot In The Basement. John is currently employed as a DevOps Engineer at CyberOwl, where they help asset operators gain visibility of the cyber risks to their distributed, remote assets.

John Grasett completed a Technologist degree in Fish and Wildlife from Fleming College between 1986 and 1989. John has since obtained several certifications, including Microsoft AZURE214x: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in May 2017, Node-RED: basics to bots from IBM in March 2017, AWS Technical Professional from Amazon Web Services in January 2017, R Programming from Coursera Verified Certificates in March 2015, The Data Scientist’s Toolbox from Coursera Verified Certificates (with Distinction) in March 2015, Introduction to Ableton Live from Coursera Course Certificates in February 2015, IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V8.5.5 with Liberty Profile from IBM in May 2014, Red Hat Sales Engineer Specialist - Platform As A Service Accreditation from Red Hat in October 2017, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in July 2017.
