Michael Carrara

Michael Carrara has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and technology. Michael is currently the Founder and Engineer at Cybrid Technology Inc., a position they started in December 2021. Prior to that, they co-founded Carrara Engineering Inc. in 2016 and worked as a Software Engineering Consultant.

From 2019 to 2021, Carrara worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Blockset by BRD, where they were responsible for leading the technical direction of the blockchain-as-a-service data platform. Michael designed and developed various components, including a cryptocurrency ETL pipeline, transaction notification services, user authentication and management services, and customer logging and billing support services.

Before that, from 2017 to 2019, Carrara worked at the Department of National Defence as a Senior Software Engineer. Michael specialized in iOS and macOS platforms, focusing on security components and internal architecture. Michael'sresponsibilities included reverse engineering system components, developing native libraries and tools, and creating backend web services.

From 2014 to 2017, Carrara worked at Public Safety Canada as a Senior Software Engineer. Michael worked on end-to-end internal development projects, including backend web services and ETL pipeline, and designed and developed secure cross-platform components for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS using the C language. Michael also managed a small team of software developers.

Prior to that, from 2011 to 2014, Carrara worked in various roles at Public Safety Canada, including Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. In these positions, they focused on developing client-server applications and systems, conducting reverse engineering, creating data representation standards, and designing secure cross-platform components.

Carrara started their career at BlackBerry in 2008, where they worked as a Software Developer in the Platform Security Team and Product Delivery Team. Michael also gained experience as a Software Developer at Macadamian Technologies, Ross Video, Canada Revenue Agency, and Public Works and Government Services Canada during their early career through co-op and part-time roles.
