Sam Hopwell

Sam Hopwell started their work experience in 2011 as a Software Support Engineer at Plumtree Group. In 2013, they joined Ideagen Plc as an Application Consultant and later progressed to roles such as Senior Application Consultant, Team Lead - Service Delivery, Service Delivery Manager, Group Implementations Manager, and finally Cloud Operations Manager. During their time at Ideagen, Sam was responsible for managing hosted and SaaS applications used by large brands and organizations in regulated industries. Sam leveraged cloud native technologies like Kubernetes, ECS, Jenkins, and Python to design and deliver platforms on AWS and Azure. In 2021, Sam joined CybSafe as a Senior DevOps Engineer and later became the Head of Infrastructure in September 2022.

Sam Hopwell attended Toot Hill from 2002 to 2009, where they obtained A Levels and GCSEs. In addition to their formal education, Sam has obtained several certifications over the years. They earned the CompTIA A+ certification from CompTIA in June 2011. They also earned a series of certifications from Microsoft, including the MCSE: Data Management and Analytics in November 2016, MCSA SQL Server 2012 in August 2013, MCTS SQL Server 2008 Implementation and Maintenance in February 2013, MCSA Windows 7 in April 2012, MCITP Enterprise Desktop Administrator On Windows 7 in November 2011, MCTS Windows 7 Configuration in November 2011, and MTA Networking Fundamentals in July 2011. Sam has also obtained the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2019.
