Michael Burcher has over 17 years of professional experience in the field of engineering and research. Michael began their career in 2003 as a Senior Member Research Staff at Philips Research, where they led research in medical ultrasound imaging and devised advanced beamforming methods. Michael then progressed to Senior Scientist in 2010, leading a multidisciplinary team to engage with external researchers and identify emerging technologies. In 2014, they moved to Cydar Ltd as a Computer Vision Engineer and in 2018 they joined Cambridge Consultants as a Principal Engineer.
Michael Burcher's educational history includes completing a DPhil in Engineering from the University of Oxford between 1999 and 2002, an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London between 1998 and 1999, an MEng in Engineering from the University of Cambridge between 1994 and 1998, and attending King Edward's School, Birmingham from 1987 to 1994. Michael also holds a NVIDIA DLI Certificate in Scaling CUDA C++ Applications to Multiple Nodes from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute, obtained in November 2021.
