Jim Halpin, CISSP, has over 30 years of experience in various roles in the technology and cybersecurity field. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Risk and Infrastructure at Cydecor, Inc., where they are responsible for creating a people-centric culture and delivering transformational capabilities to customers. Jim also works as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Previously, Jim held leadership positions at InnovaSystems Intl, where they served as the CIO/CISO, and at La Jolla Bioengineering Institute, where they worked as the CIO. At InnovaSystems, they were responsible for providing highly secure software development and support services for the Department of Defense. At La Jolla Bioengineering Institute, they oversaw all information technology, facility, and product commercialization functions.
Prior to that, Jim was the VP of Operations at ExactCost, Inc., an international application service provider for the healthcare industry, and the IT Director at Sweetwater Union High School District. Jim has also worked as a Technical Program Manager at General Electric Aerospace, where they designed strategic training plans for the U.S. military.
Before entering the technology field, Jim worked for the City of San Diego as a High Speed Rescue Vessel Operator. Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated their expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, and IT operations.
Jim Halpin, CISSP, holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature, General from San Diego State University, which they obtained from 1982 to 1987. Jim also possesses a Master's Degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from the same university, earned between 1989 and 1991.
