Steve Qian (We are hiring)

Steve Qian has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Steve most recently served as the VP of Engineering at Cygnvs Inc. starting in March 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of VP Development at Ceridian from April 2020 to March 2022.

Before their roles in the technology industry, Steve worked at a software start-up as the VP of Engineering from October 2017 to December 2019. During this time, they successfully built and managed a product development organization of around 50 people in Toronto.

Steve also has extensive experience in the MDM (Master Data Management) field. Steve worked at Informatica as the VP of Engineering - MDM for five years, leading engineering, devops, and sustenance teams across multiple international locations. Prior to working at Informatica, Steve served as the Senior Director of Engineering at Siperian, where they led the development, delivery, and sustenance teams for Informatica MDM products.

Before their roles in MDM, Steve worked at Delos Technology as a Principal Architect, where they played a key role in creating and delivering a market-leading MDM product. Steve also defined the MDM market and was responsible for data models, proprietary algorithms, ETL and integration processes, and business logic.

Earlier in their career, Steve worked as a Technical Architect at E.piphany Inc. and as a Principal Consultant at Oracle.

Overall, Steve Qian brings a wealth of experience in engineering, product development, and MDM, making him a valuable candidate for a variety of technical leadership positions.

Steve Qian pursued their education from 1988 to 1991 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where they studied Industrial Management but did not complete their B.Eng degree. Subsequently, from 1992 to 1993, they enrolled at McGill University, earning a B.Sc in Computer Science. Continuing their academic journey, Steve Qian attended McGill University from 1994 to 1995 to pursue an M.Sc in Computer Science, but was unable to complete the degree.
