Ceredigion County Council is a unitary authority created in 1996 as a result of local government re-organisation. It covers an area of 180,500 hectares (696 square miles) and has a population of 78,000.  It has responsibility for environmental health, housing, planning, highways, schools, libraries, recreational facilities, social services, local taxation and benefits, tourism and economic development, amongst other items.

The ICT and Information Management team at Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council is responsible for managing the technological infrastructure and information systems critical to the Council's operations. This includes providing technical support, developing and maintaining software and web applications, ensuring cybersecurity, and overseeing HR and payroll systems. The team ensures that all digital and information management needs are met efficiently to support the Council’s various responsibilities, from social services to economic development.
