Cypress Assistance Ministries
Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM) serves individuals and families in crisis by providing: financial assistance, primarily with past-due rent and utilities; food via a Food Pantry; home delivery of food for senior citizens and people with mobility issues; employment services including resume preparation and distribution of job leads; adult education that includes year-round GED classes and multiple levels of ESL classes; and seasonal programs at back-to-school time, Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. In faith and partnership with the community, CAM turns stumbling blocks into stepping stones by making resources available to individuals and families facing adversity. Our goal is to offer that needed helping hand that steers each person back toward self-sufficiency. Hard times can arise through many different circumstances such as an unexpected job loss, an illness, a divorce, and as we’ve now experienced, during a pandemic. That's when CAM steps in by providing that critical assistance, helping families stay in their homes, helping other find permanent employment, and educating others who are experiencing language barriers and/or education barriers. With over 30 years of serving northwest Harris County, CAM continues to be a mainstay in the community, committed to helping our neighbors in need.
