Carolina Otalvaro

Carolina Otalvaro, CAMS, has an extensive work experience spanning over 17 years in the banking and financial services industry. Carolina currently holds the position of Senior Vice President BSA/Compliance Officer at Cypress Bank & Trust, a role they have occupied since August 2021.

Prior to their current position, Carolina worked as a Senior Consultant at Capco from November 2017 to August 2021. Carolina also served as a BSA/Compliance Consultant at FIS from November 2016 to November 2017.

Carolina's experience also includes a significant tenure at Florida Bank of Commerce, where they held the position of SVP Compliance BSA Officer from October 2007 to October 2016. Before that, they worked as a Commercial Real Estate Loan Underwriter at Mercantile Bank from October 2006 to October 2007.

Carolina began their career at the Florida Department of Financial Services, where they served as a Bank Examiner/Analyst from February 2004 to October 2006. In this role, they reviewed and analyzed financial statements and reports of financial institutions, recommended improvements to operations and management policies, and reviewed credit relationships to ensure sound underwriting and loan administration practices.
