Teresa Sterling

Teresa Sterling, CPA, CGMA has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting. Teresa currently serves as the Director of Finance and Accounting at Cypress Creek Renewables since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Controller at the North Carolina Railroad Company from January 2021 to March 2023. From July 2018 to February 2020, Teresa served as the Accounting Controller at SmallHD, where they reported directly to the Divisional CFO and provided financial analysis and support to the management team. Teresa also held the position of Controller at Long Beverage Inc. from 2016 to 2018, where they worked closely with the CEO and department managers to provide meaningful financial data and improve finance support functions. Teresa's earlier experience includes roles as Controller at Advanced Energy & NC GreenPower from 2009 to 2015, Audit Staff Accountant at Lunsford & Strickland, P.A. in 2008, Audit Associate at KPMG Audit from 2007 to 2008, and Staff Accountant at Biolex Therapeutics from 2001 to 2007.

Teresa Sterling, CPA, CGMA, holds a Masters in Accounting which they obtained from the North Carolina State University - College of Management in 2007. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the same institution, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2005. In 2008, they became a certified public accountant (CPA) through the NC State Board of CPA Examiners. Additionally, Teresa holds the CGMA designation and also has a certification as a Notary.
