Joel Weckerly

Joel Weckerly has extensive experience in communication and journalism, currently serving as the Director of Communication for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD since February 2007, where responsibilities include managing press releases, creating district news podcasts, and overseeing various publications and online content. Prior roles include Editor for Houston Community Newspapers, managing a team producing five weekly newspapers, and Assistant Sports Editor for The Courier, focusing on high school athletics in Montgomery County. Joel also served as Sports Editor and Sports Writer for the Corsicana Daily Sun, covering both high school and collegiate sports, and worked as a Sports Stringer for The Dallas Morning News. Joel holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Abilene Christian University.
