Tanya Gantiva Richards

Tanya Gantiva Richards is an accomplished art educator and business owner with a diverse background in visual arts and community engagement. As the owner of Art Pwer since June 2020, Tanya has been dedicated to fostering arts practices and education through private and group classes, workshops, and art events. In addition to this role, Tanya serves as a Visual Art Specialist at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District since June 2018, and previously held positions as a Visual Art Teacher and Art Instructor at the Indigenous Cultures Institute from June 2016 to June 2020. Tanya's expertise includes developing impactful art lessons that integrate various artistic disciplines and conducting research in art education to enhance student engagement. Contributions to the field include presenting at notable conferences such as NAEA and TAEA, as well as volunteer work at The Arc of the United States, supporting individuals with disabilities in creative expression. Tanya holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, earned in 2018.
