Sergey Surkov is a microbiologist with extensive experience in molecular genetics and bacterial research. Currently employed at CytaCoat since April 2020, Sergey focuses on microbiological applications. Prior to this role, Sergey worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Uppsala University from April 2017 to April 2020, investigating de novo gene evolution in bacteria utilizing various advanced methodologies. Sergey held a postdoctoral position at the National Cancer Institute from April 2011 to April 2016, where research centered on the N-end rule pathway of protein degradation. Sergey began academic training at Stockholm University, completing a PhD in Molecular Genetics in 2010, focusing on translation initiation and trans-translation. Throughout the career, Sergey has gained expertise in techniques such as strain construction, mutagenesis, RNA isolation, mass spectrometry, and other biochemical assays.
