Neil Ryan

Neil Ryan has a wide range of experience in the healthcare and diagnostics industry. Neil currently serves as the VP Laboratory Services at Cyted, a company focused on using artificial intelligence and biomarkers in digital pathology to improve disease detection and patient outcomes.

Prior to their current role, Neil worked as a Non-Executive Director at LabXcell Ltd (UK NEQAS CPT).

Neil also held several positions at Source BioScience, including Director of Laboratory Operations, Healthcare Diagnostics Director, Laboratory Operations Manager, and Molecular Diagnostics Lead Scientist. In these roles, Neil was responsible for leading and managing teams, overseeing laboratory operations, introducing new technologies such as Digital Pathology, and building strategic industry partnerships. Neil played a key role in the operational delivery of a COVID-19 testing service, which included achieving ISO15189:2012 accreditation, increasing testing capacity, and successfully implementing contracts with B2B and B2G partners.

Before joining Source BioScience, Neil worked as a Deputy Service and Quality Manager at Nottingham University Hospitals and as a Senior Biomedical Scientist at PathLinks.

Earlier in their career, Neil gained experience in marketing trials at Leica Microsystems, where they identified and executed large marketing trials for IHC and ISH products.

Overall, Neil Ryan has demonstrated a strong track record of leadership, strategic management, and operational excellence in the healthcare and diagnostics sector.

Neil Ryan obtained their Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Genetics from the University of Liverpool in the years 1998 to 2001. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science in Biomedical Science at Ulster University from 2003 to 2005.
