Monika Chugh, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience in the field of cancer biology and business development. Monika is currently working as an Associate Director of Business Development at Cytel since May 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Business Development Manager at Champions Oncology, Inc. from May 2022 to May 2023.

Before venturing into business development, Monika worked as a Senior Cancer Biology Scientist at the University of Sussex from August 2018 to May 2022. During their time there, they focused on researching non-coding RNA in pancreatic and breast cancer, utilizing genome engineering techniques like CRISPR Cas9.

Monika also worked as a Cancer Biology Scientist at Imperial College London from January 2018 to September 2018, where they further honed their skills in cancer research. Additionally, they worked as a Post Doctoral Scientist at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory from April 2014 to August 2017. Here, they conducted various experiments involving antisense oligonucleotide treatment of cells, alternative splicing analysis, and RNA binding partner identification in breast cancer.

In addition to their research positions, Monika has experience in technology commercialization. Monika worked as a Technology Commercialization Associate at Stony Brook University from January 2015 to June 2017, where they focused on life sciences technology research, marketing analysis, and maintaining professional relationships with pharmaceutical partners.

Monika's professional journey began as a Global Infectious Disease Fellow at the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute from March 2010 to September 2010. During this time, they conducted research on the identification of the hemozoin formation complex in the food vacuole of the parasite Plasmodium falciparum under the guidance of Professor Kenneth D Stuart.

Monika Chugh, PhD, has a diverse education history. Monika completed the Fundamentals of BioScience Industry Program at Stony Brook University, where they earned a Scientific MBA. Following this, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Infectious Diseases at ICGEB in New Delhi, India and the Centre for Infectious Disease in Seattle, WA, USA.

Monika also obtained a Professional Certificate Course in Developing New Ideas for companies from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business. Prior to this, they achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stony Brook University, specializing in the Fundamentals of Bioscience Industry.

For their postdoctoral research experience, Monika worked at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, focusing on Oncology and Cancer Biology.
