Project Lead at Cytiva

Max Hoang has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple industries. Max began their career as a Community Worker at VWAT Family Services, where they organized a Summer Day-Camp and supervised a team of Camp Counselors. Max then transitioned into education, working as an Online and Private Tutor at First Tutors Canada and a Tutor at Pham Learning Centre, where they provided math and science lessons to students of various age groups.

In 2017, Max gained experience in the pharmaceutical industry through roles at Sanofi Pasteur. As a Project/Technical Writer Assistant in Manufacturing Technology, they conducted protein concentration assessments and designed comparability studies. Max also worked as a Laboratory Assistant in Bioprocess Upstream R&D, where they performed various tasks such as determining antigen concentrations and maintaining cell density.

Max's analytical and research skills were further developed during their time as a Research Assistant at Ryerson University. Here, they analyzed blood samples using advanced Mass Spectrometry techniques and quantified analytes using various specialized equipment.

Most recently, Max has been working at Cytiva as a Project Lead, focusing on optimizing bioreactor protocols for expanding immune cells. This involved working with various media, particles, and viruses to achieve desired cell numbers.

Through their various roles, Max has demonstrated strong analytical and technical skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with team members and managers.

Max Hoang completed a Master's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Guelph from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences, General from Ryerson University between 2015 and 2019.
