Rob Whitfield has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Rob currently holds the position of Principal Scientist in Viral Vector R&D at Cytiva since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Global Applications Manager at Calibre Scientific, Inc. from November 2020 to February 2022. Rob also served as a Senior Research Scientist at Teva Pharmaceuticals from 2018 to 2020. Before that, they gained experience as a Senior Scientist at NeuClone Pty Ltd and as a Consultant in Research and Development at CharterNet in 2015. Rob Whitfield also has an academic background, having served as an Associate Lecturer at Coventry University from 2014 to 2015. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a PHD Student at the University of Sheffield from 2008 to 2013. Rob began their career as a PHD Researcher at Pfizer and later worked as a Downstream and Analytical Development Scientist at Eden Biodesign in 2007.

Rob Whitfield has a Master's degree in Medical Biochemistry from The University of Sheffield, which they obtained between 2003 and 2008. Rob later pursued a PhD in Biological/Biosystems Engineering at the same university, completing it between 2008 and 2013.
