Norma Tom

VP, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control at Cytokinetics

Norma has served as Vice President of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) since November 2021. Since her start at Cytokinetics in 2015 Norma has built and led the company’s CMC function.

Most recently, Norma worked as a Senior Director at Exelixis where she led drug substance development and manufacturing activities. Prior to that, she spent time as a Senior Research Scientist at Gilead Sciences and previously, she spent almost 8 years working at Pfizer as a Senior Principal Scientist in Process Chemistry.

Norma received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Caltech.

Norma is a San Francisco native who enjoys fine dining and good wine and beer. In her free time, she can be found hiking with her husband Eric, using her beloved Peloton or working out in general. Norma loves dogs and most recently rescued a special needs dog named Rigby.
