Swati Jalgaonkar, Ph.D., has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of biology, drug discovery, and research. Swati'smost recent position was as a Senior Scientist I at CytomX Therapeutics, where they have been working since 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Scientist II (Cancer Immunology/ Oncology) at the same company from November 2020 to August 2022.

Before joining CytomX Therapeutics, Swati was a Scientist I (Antibody Drug Discovery) at Apexigen from September 2019 to October 2020. In this role, they advanced a key pipeline program by establishing cell-based assays to screen humanized antibodies against IO target, resulting in the selection of potential leads. Swati's earliest work experience was as a Research Trainee at the National Centre for Cell Science from July 2007 to August 2008, where they investigated the role of transcription factors in modulating chemoresistance in ovarian cancer.

Swati's first research role was as a Research Scholar (Intern) at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, University of Pune from August 2005 to May 2007, where they worked on medium optimization for the production of cold-active lipase and esterase from marine yeast.

Swati Jalgaonkar, Ph.D., completed their education in a chronological order. Swati began their educational journey in 1988 at G.D. Birla Centre for Education, where they obtained their ISC degree in Science, specializing in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, in 2003. Following this, Swati pursued an Integrated 5-year M.Sc. program in Biotechnology at Savitribai Phule Pune University from 2003 to 2008. Finally, they attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology from 2008 to 2016.
