Carlos Edwards

Carlos Edwards is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in cybersecurity and incident management. Currently serving as Co-Founder, Board of Directors, and Ambassador at Cyversity since February 2014, Carlos co-founded the organization to promote diversity in the cybersecurity field. Previously, Carlos held the position of Director (SVP), Global Incident Response at a Global Financial Institution from February 2021 to August 2022, overseeing cyber crisis management. Carlos also worked at the Internal Revenue Service from October 2016 to February 2021 as Program Director of the Cyber Threat Fusion Center, enhancing incident management capabilities, and held the role of Program Director for Security Risk Analytics at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from June 2011 to October 2016, where responsibilities included establishing a Security Operations Risk Management Framework. Additional experience with the Internal Revenue Service includes leading IT Security Architecture & Implementation and the Cyber Security Incident Response Center, underscoring a robust background in cybersecurity leadership and management.
