Avkash Kathiriya

Avkash Kathiriya has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and cyber resiliency. Avkash started their career as a System Administrator at System International / KRChoksey Shares & Securities, where they were responsible for maintaining server hardware and software, resolving service-related issues, and ensuring network security.

Avkash then joined Symantec as an Information Security Analyst, where they focused on security monitoring using the SSIM tool and integrating it with various security devices. Avkash also reviewed and fine-tuned correlation rules for critical security incidents.

After Symantec, Avkash joined STL - Sterlite Technologies Limited as an Associate Manager - Information Security, where they held responsibilities related to managing and ensuring the security of the organization's information systems.

Avkash then moved to HDFC Bank as a Manager - Information Security, where they played a crucial role in cyber security governance, managing the Security Operations Center (SOC), and incident management.

Avkash also has experience working with OASIS as a Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Technical Committee member and as a Visiting Faculty Member at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, SriCity.

Currently, they are working at Cyware as the Sr. VP - Research and Innovation, leading research and innovation initiatives to enhance the organization's cybersecurity capabilities.

Avkash Kathiriya completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from SSVPS College of Engineering, North Maharashtra University, from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they attended MVLU College from 2003 to 2005 and completed their High School education in the field of Science. Avkash also attended Matruchhaya High School from 1999 to 2003 for their High School education.

In addition to their formal education, Avkash Kathiriya obtained several certifications. Avkash achieved the CHFI certification from EC-Council in January 2016. In October 2014, they obtained the Information Security Incident Handling certification from Charles Sturt University. Avkash also completed a certification titled "Malicious Software and its Underground Economy" from the University of London (Coursera Verified) in June 2014. Moreover, they acquired the VMware vSphere 5 certification from Brainbench in April 2014.

Avkash Kathiriya holds certifications in the field of cybersecurity as well. In July 2013, they completed the Cyber Crime Protection Program from the Asian School of Cyber Laws and obtained the Data Privacy Law (India) certification from the same institution in June 2013. Additionally, they achieved the ITIL V3 Foundation certification from EXIN in October 2012.

As part of their continuous learning, Avkash Kathiriya has also completed several online certifications. In October 2012, they obtained the Power Searching with Google certification from Google. Moreover, they received the Solarwinds Certified Professional certification in September 2014. However, the obtained month and year are not provided for the Certified Information Security Expert certification, Diploma In Project Management, Fundamentals of Network Security, and IT Management - Building Information Systems certifications.
