Flavio Brancato

Flavio Brancato serves as the Platform Lead Engineer at D-Orbit since November 2021, focusing on the “NOX” SAR Satellite within ESA's IRIDE Programme and promoting the Zero Debris approach for space sustainability. Previously, Flavio worked as a Space Systems Engineer at D-Orbit, contributing to the In Orbit Now satellite platform and participating in proposal preparations for Earth Observation missions. At EPFL Space Center (eSpace), Flavio was the technical lead of the DAWN project under ESA's Future Launcher Preparatory Program and acted as a technical officer for the Space Sustainability Rating. Flavio's academic background includes a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Torino and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Aeronautics from Università degli Studi di Palermo. A Master Thesis on Sustainable Space Logistics was completed at EPFL. Flavio also holds a High School Diploma from Classical High School, G. Garibaldi Palermo.
