Mamoru Taniya

Founder at D4V (Design for Ventures)

Mamoru Taniya is a Founder at D4V where he oversees investments, drawing upon his broad range of investment experiences ranging from venture capital to fixed-income derivatives to private equities. He started his career at Salomon Brothers in 1987 where he became the youngest managing director in Asia, and was a founding partner at Tudor Capital Japan where he started their private equity business. In 2005, Mr. Taniya founded independent Japanese hedge fund Asuka Asset Management, where he continues to serve as CEO. He also serves as Representative Founder of UWC ISAK Japan, the first international boarding school in Japan, and holds a BA in Law from the University of Tokyo.
