Gabriel Abraham

Chief of Party at DAI

Gabriel Abraham is the current Chief of Party at DAI. Gabriel has over 25 years of experience in the field of international development and has worked on projects in a variety of countries, including Iraq, Kosovo, Jordan, Memphis, TN, Jamaica, and Russia.

Abraham began their career in 1994 as an urban planner with Abt Associates. Gabriel later became the Deputy Chief of Party for a management contract for the resettlement of Russian military officers in 1996. In 1997, they took on the role of Project Director for the Comprehensive Development for the City of Luxor in Egypt. The following year, they became the team leader for the Primary Health Care Initiative in Jordan.

In 2003, Abraham joined RTI International as a Senior Associate. Gabriel served as the team lead for the USAID funded governance project in Iraq from 2003 to 2009. Gabriel also served as the Chief of Party for the USAID funded Effective Municipalities Initiative projects in Kosovo from 2010 to 2019.

Abraham has a bachelor's degree in Urban Planning from Syracuse University and a master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.

Gabriel Abraham's educational career began with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Haverford College. Gabriel then pursued a Master of Architecture at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation, and finally a Master of Urban Planning also from Columbia University. Abraham is currently a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, studying heritage and urban planning.
