Nilu Basnyat

Nilu Basnyat is a seasoned international development leader with over 26 years of experience in water security, climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and governance reform. They have served as a Country Director and Chief of Party for various notable initiatives under USAID, the World Bank, and UNDP, where they successfully managed multimillion-dollar programs and fostered strategic partnerships across sectors. Currently, Nilu works as an In-Country Representative and ESG Advisor for Eaton Capital Partners, focusing on hydropower investments and ESG compliance in South and Southeast Asia. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Biological Resources/Environmental Engineering and a Master's in Management Information Systems from the University of Maryland.
