Jim Baumann

Jim Baumann has a comprehensive work experience in the media industry. Jim started their career as a Staff Writer at Herald (Paddock Publications) in 1983 and later worked as a Staff Writer at Rockford Register Star in 1984. Jim then joined Daily Herald (Paddock Publications) in 1985, where they held various roles such as Assistant City Editor, Elgin Editor, and Vice President/Managing Editor. In 1997, they moved to Daily Herald Media Group as the Tri-Cities Editor and later became the Fox Valley Manager & Editor. From 2012 to 2021, they served as the Managing Editor and Assistant Vice President/Managing Editor. In 2016, they returned to Daily Herald (Paddock Publications, Inc.) as the Vice President/Managing Editor. Currently, Jim Baumann is the Vice President/Executive Editor at Daily Herald Media Group.

Jim Baumann earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Jim attended the university from 1980 to 1984.
