Alet Law is an experienced audience development manager currently working at Daily Maverick since March 2022, focusing on data analysis and strategies to enhance audience engagement. Prior to this role, Alet held various positions at News24 South Africa, including Newsletter and Engagement Editor, responsible for increasing reader engagement and converting users into paid subscribers, and Opinions Editor, where Alet addressed the challenges of distinguishing fact from fiction in news coverage. Alet's journalistic journey includes serving as a journalist at Netwerk24, covering news of national relevance, and Die Burger, where Alet reported on environmental issues and contributed to a historical publication. Alet's early career involved general news reporting for Media24. Academic qualifications include a JournalismAI Fellowship from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a PhD in Political Communication, and an MA in Political Communication, both from the University of Cape Town, along with a BPhil and Bachelor's degree from Stellenbosch University.
