Veronica Ayala-Sims

Veronica Ayala-Sims is a physician with extensive experience in primary care and specialty care for underserved populations, currently serving at Daily Planet Health Services since January 2022. Prior to this role, Veronica worked at Capital Area Health Network from August 2018 to December 2021, focusing on HIV, Hepatitis C, and PrEP. Veronica also spent eight years at VCU Health as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Clinical Director of the HIV/AIDS Center, while overseeing significant programs as Principal Investigator. Earlier in the career, Veronica held positions at Petersburg Health Care Alliance and Parexel, along with a project management role at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. Veronica obtained an MD from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, following a BA in Psychology and African American Studies from the University of Virginia.
