Scott Sortor

Scott Sortor has extensive experience in firefighting and emergency medical services, currently holding multiple roles at Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical Department since November 2017, including Firefighter/TRT Tech, Firefighter Paramedic, Firefighter/Hazmat Tech, and Firefighter. Previously, Scott served as a Firefighter with Black Canyon Fire District from February 2010 to June 2017. Additionally, Scott worked at Redflex from October 1999 to April 2017, where responsibilities included Operations Supervisor, overseeing 20-30 associates in a fast-paced environment, as well as roles in client services and mobile unit operations. Scott holds an Associate's degree in Fire Science/Firefighting from Paradise Valley Community College and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Paramedicine from Glendale Community College.

Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical Department

The Daisy Mountain Fire District was formed in January 1988. The district encompasses roughly 100 square miles in the north central section of Maricopa County, Arizona. The district is governed by a five-member elected fire board. The department protects the citizen's of Anthem, Desert Hills and New River with four fire stations staffed with 88 sworn personnel as well as additional support staff. The Daisy Mountain Fire Department currently staffs a fleet of four paramedic engine companies, one ladder company, two paramedic rescues (ambulance), and one battalion command unit. In addition, the department maintains a fleet of support apparatus, including a hazardous materials support unit with tox-medic capability, several water tankers, several brush trucks, and several support and staff vehicles. The Daisy Mountain Fire Department is a member of the Phoenix Regional Automatic Aid System.
